Workload Management Overview

Workload management provides the ability to automate, control, and configure the utilization of the infrastructure, and enhances the desired application behaviors with instance-level granularity. It ensures that application achieve the user-specified desired behaviors at the lowest cost to the infrastructure.

Workload management provides a meaningful set of default behaviors optimizing the utilization of the infrastructure. This achieves availability for the most important applications as determined through the use of tags.

Rules

Object management and placement is determined by rules. Explicit rules are represented by service catalog categories. These rules deliver availability and complete control. The primary category type of Availability contains three default tags or levels:
