Orchestrator Overview

The Stratus Orchestrator monitors instance behavior, and takes specific actions based on the availability levels of the application and instances. These behaviors include workload placement and rules, workload restarts, and system reservations to ensure failover where necessary. This includes additional workload provisioning to ensure that the workloads are in the right location at the right time. The Stratus Orchestrator understands application requirements at the container level, and manages and moves workloads at the container level, as well as managing the instances. When there is a change to an instance, hypervisor, or application, workload placement is reevaluated by the Orchestrator.
