Container Overview

The application container is a package of descriptors (known as a deployment package) that describe the interrelationships among each component of a software application and their relationships to resources outside the cloud.

Application containers define an operational method managing true application availability. A container is comprised of:

Containers can also be started and stopped.

Caution: Stopping a running application container affects everything running under it.
