Add images using the Images page. To add an image, you must have an image file that is a supported virtual machine image for one or more Stratus Cloud Workload Services-compatible hypervisors:
To add an image:
In the Add Image panel, complete the following fields and components:
Permission: Specify the tenants that have permission to deploy this image by deselecting Permission: All Tenants, clicking the Permit to drop-down box, and selecting individual tenants.
As you select tenants from Permit to, your selections appear in the Selected list. Click in the selected tenant to remove it from the Selected list.
If applicable, use the following information to resolve problems when adding an image.
To recover if Workload Services appears to hang while uploading an image
If you upload a large image in Workload Services, the upload may fail and the user interface may appear to hang for a few minutes until the failure is detected. The Add Image page is displayed, but no image is uploaded. To prevent this problem, upload images only in OpenStack Horizon.
To correct a problem where you add a QCOW2 image that fails to deploy
If you add a QCOW2 image that subsequently fails to deploy, the image may be in a later format of QCOW2 that is not supported by the version of CentOS on which the Stratus Cloud Solution is based.
To display version information for your QCOW2 image, execute a command similar to the following:
# /opt/ft/bin/qemu-img info centos66.qcow2
If the format of the image is version 1.1, convert the image to an earlier version of QCOW2. For example, execute a command similar to the following, which converts the image to QCOW2 version 0.10 for the highest compatibility:
# /opt/ft/bin/qemu-img amend -f qcow2 -o compat=0.10 centos66.qcow2
Add the new image and redeploy the application.
